ISO 14064-Greenhouse Gas ManagementIs the climate becoming warmer and warmer?According to the National Academy of Sciences, the Earth's surface temperature has risen by about 1 degree Fahrenheit in the past century, with accelerated warming during the past two decades. There is new and stronger evidence that most of the warming over the last 50 years is attributable to human activities. Human activities have altered the chemical composition of the atmosphere through the buildup of greenhouse gases – primarily carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. The heat-trapping property of these gases is undisputed although uncertainties exist about exactly how earth's climate responds to them. (source: US-EPA)What cause the temperature of the atmosphere to go up?There are many possible mechanisms that can cause the warming of the atmosphere, for example: 1. Natural variation – the climate becomes warmer by internal chaotic dynamics of the earth-atmosphere system (that is, no external influence). 2. Solar activity – either direct increase of solar energy output or indirect “trigger” mechanisms due to solar activity (though nobody knows how) may cause the surface temperature to go up. 3. Greenhouse effect – increasing “greenhouse” gases such as CO2, CH4, NO, CFC, …etc. (actually H2O is very efficient, too, but at present it is assumed to be in steady state). Global warming. What are green house gases? Greenhouse gases are a group of compounds that are able to trap heat (long wave radiation) in the atmosphere, keeping the Earth's surface warmer than it would be if they were not present. These gases are the fundamental cause of the greenhouse effect. Increases in the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere enhances the greenhouse effect which is creating global warming and consequently climate change. What green house gases do humans generate? Carbon dioxide CO2, Methane CH4, Nitrous oxide N2O, Hydrofluorocarbons HFC, Perfluorocarbons PFC, Sulfur hexafluoride SF6, Nitrogen trifluoride NF3 and Hydrofluorinated ethers HFE, What is carbon foot printing? It is the amount of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere annually by a person, household, building, organization, or company, What is ISO 14064? ISO 14064 –Green House Gases standard comprises of three parts, Part 1: Specification with guidance at the organization level for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals detailing specifications, guidance at the organizational and project levels and for GHG quantification, monitoring, reporting, validation and verification. Part 2 : Specification with guidance at the project level for quantification, monitoring and reporting of greenhouse gas emission reductions or removal enhancements.Part 3 : Specification with guidance for the validation and verification of greenhouse gas assertionsObjectives of ISO 14064 is to 1. Enhance environmental integrity by promoting consistency, transparency and credibility in GHG, 2. Quantification, monitoring, reporting and verification, 3. Enable organizations to identify and manage GHG-related liabilities, assets and risks, 4. Facilitate the trade of GHG allowances or credits, 5. Support the design, development and implementation of comparable and consistent GHG schemes or programmes. To implement ISO 14064-Greenhouse Gas Management at your organization, Call "SMARTEDGE" today on +91 984 982 1597 or +91 807 944 3713, For more info, visit link, http://www.smartedgeconsulting.com/greenhouse.html

ISO 9001:2015ISO 9001:2015 sets out the criteria for a quality management system and is the only standard in the family that can be certified to (although this is not a requirement). It can be used by any organization, large or small, regardless of its field of activity. This standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. Using ISO 9001:2015 helps ensure that customers get consistent, good quality of products and services, which can bring many business benefits.Certification to ISO 9001:2015Checking whether the system is working is a vital part of ISO 9001:2015 by regular internal audits. An organization may decide to invite an independent certification body to verify that it is in conformity to the standard. Alternatively, it can invite its clients to audit the quality system for themselves.Revision of existing ISO 9001:2008 standard:Organizations which are already certified with ISO 9001:2008 standard are permitted for a period of three years to migrate their quality management system to the new edition of the standard. Why ISO 9001:2008 was revised? All ISO standards are reviewed for every five years to establish if a revision is required to keep it current and relevant for the changing market needs. ISO 9001:2015 is designed to respond to the latest trends and be compatible with other management systems such as ISO 14001.What are the main changes in the standard? The new version follows a higher level structure to make it easier to use in conjunction with other management system standards, with increased importance given to risk. How to make the transition from ISO 9001:2008 revision to the 2015 revision? The new version of ISO 9001:2015, which was released in Sept. 2015. The Certified companies and organizations are willing to know the next steps, and how to become compliant with the new version.Transition PeriodThe ISO organization stated that the transition period will take three years. So the organizations may get their ISO 9001:2008 certificates or have surveillance audits according to the old version until September 23, 2018. Even though it is sufficient period, organizations can plan to catch up with the changes much sooner to demonstrate that they are keeping up with the world and gain a competitive advantage.Validity of the old certificates:The new standard was published on September 15, 2015, so the ISO 9001:2008 standard will become invalid by September 14, 2018. To avoid the pressure at the eleventh hour, organization are recommended to plan their transition at the earliest possible time frame. To initiate the transition process today, Call "SMARTEDGE" today on +91 984 982 1597 or +91 807 944 3713, For more info, visit link, http://smartedgeconsulting.com/iso-9001.html
